Jim Murgatroyd explains how regular patterns improve your lifestyle


Jim Murgatroyd has over 30 years experience in the health and fitness industry and has developed and maintained a very strong interest in personal training, team coaching and sports performance enhancement. During this time he has achieved a high degree of personal fitness and shared the value of this experience with a number of sports people from a variety of disciplines and ability levels from beginners through to world-class athletes. He is currently viewed by many as one of the areas leading personal trainer and therapist, who believes that the highest quality of service should not only be accessible to professional athletes but anyone with a desire to improve.

In his early years he trained and coached on a casual basis supporting friends and family who wished to improve their fitness levels and/or lose weight, though his career has given him the pleasure of playing a pivotal role in the development of world-class teams and athletes from a variety of sports including; rugby (both codes), squash, athletics, triathletes, cyclists and boxers. His work with athletes at the pinnacle of their sport, combined with his enthusiasm to tap the true potential of his clients led to further studies.

He has an expert understanding of sports psychology and performance enhancement and is now a Master Practitioner with the BEST institute. Understanding how the mind works, how it affects behaviour and how it can be harnessed enables him to develop programmes specific to the individuals needs.

His belief in continued education has enabled him to provide cutting edge training techniques. His qualifications come from leading organizations such as;

Most of all however, his training ethos is based around the belief that training and exercise should be fun and enjoyed by anyone! With all the pieces of the jigsaw in place, clients of any ability very quickly fulfil their potential with a smile on their face and a spring in their step, receiving an all round enjoyable workout.
